07.03.2026 - Here We Go...

Take everything I post with a grain of salt. Otherwise – Enjoy some thoughts:

The Writer in Me:

Life gives lemons freely, but it is up to us to make lemonade….

          Or something like that…

Life is what you really make of it, and I am choosing to romanticize mine. I refuse to allow time to continue to pass without me taking an active move towards it. So… having said all that… what am I going to do…?

First – Let me officially create my first post on romanticizing life…

Here we go:

I believe that part of romanticizing your life is to consciously appreciate the things around you that you normally take for granted. An example I can use and something I recently spoke to a friend of mine about, was growing up the way I did. Because I grew up in a great neighborhood and have had many blessings in my life, there was a point in time where I lost sight of all I had. Even now, as I am writing this, a little kid, maybe a year old, wearing a blue shirt with some black pants, is banging on a random table outside of this restaurant my friend and I are at. Having lived in my area for ALL OF MY LIFE, I have never wanted to explore this restaurant either. It’s been around 10 years now! Always pass by it on my way to work. Not that I never wanted to explore this place, but I just passed by it saying, “maybe another day”. 10 years LATER, I finally came in with my friend because she was curious about visiting the place after our sleepover.

We were hungry and we wanted to get something to eat… She got a latte and tacos, and I got a sandwich with a drink… It was REALLY GOOD.

Anyway, back to the point of why I am writing this post…

How many times have I said, “maybe next time” or “maybe someday” to myself when either avoiding something I don’t want to do or something I’m scared to do because of intrusive thoughts trying to “protect me”. I am learning that it’s okay to live. It’s okay to move on. It’s okay to romanticize your life. It’s okay to go into a restaurant by yourself and sit with the awkward feeling of being alone. It’s okay to do things that scare you because when you do things you are scared to do, you show your brain has nothing to fear. You take your first step into living a life you’ll be proud to leave behind, instead of a life you were too scared to live. I truly believe that God placed me on this earth, not only to show his love to the world, but to live it as best as I can. He loved me so much that he allowed me the gift of friendships, to be able to share my time here with my friends and family. For that, I will continue to romanticize my life and create memories, so that one day when the good Lord calls me home. I’ll be ready.
